A travel diary on film of a trip to Tuscany

View from San Gimignano

In July 2024 my family and I went on a two week trip to Tuscany. We stayed in an agriturismo close to Florence and roamed around the area. During that time I shot 6 rolls of Kodak Gold 200 on my Minolta X-700 (with the 50mm 1.4 lens). I decided to put together a selection of the frames and add a bit of context to some kind of a travel diary.

Agriturismo

We stayed at Poderaccio Azienda Agricola Biologica. It’s a beautiful place and the hosts are amazing. Highly recommended!

Roaming Around

Florence

Last time I visited Florence was on a school trip. I happened to turn 18 in this city and (obviously) don’t have a clear memory of what it was like.

Although the city is beautiful and the architecture impressive – it’s hard to enjoy it. It’s packed with people (and yes I’m aware of the irony, because I’m part of the problem) and it’s impossible to explore it in your own pace.

Nevertheless, it was a cool place to take photos and I will definitely come back in the off-season (less crowded and not 35°C 🌞).

Figline Valdarno

Sestri Levante

Because we missed the sea 🌊 we decided to take a small detour to the Italian riviera on our way back home. Sestri Levante is close to Genova and super beautiful. The “bay of silence” is right next to the old town and features multiple public beaches. When we arrived at 9 AM we seemingly were the only tourists and the small town just started to come to life. It was so lovely to see the locals enjoying a stroll on the beach or standing in the shallow water for a chat with their friends.

Vehicle Special

I hope you enjoyed it and I’m always super happy about any feedback you have.

Grazie mille ❤️
